hey guys I said I was bak wit sum q....s anyway can any1 tell me if a supra (toyo)g/box 5 speed manual will fit into a vn????? this was put to me by a mate and its got me thinkin! I myself haf never heard of this has any1 done this or put anther type of g/box in besides the stock?????????
Physically yes it will fit. Even the six speed will drop in, however you'll need to get a custom bell-housing to mate it to the engine, work out how to get the clutch mating to the flywheel nicely and you'll most likely need a custom drive shaft made up as the box is a different length.
It's a popular mod for VN's when their boxes either blow-up or when the car is going to be used for track work.
So yes, it can be done, but it costs a bomb to do it, then you've gotta deal with all the insurance crap that goes with it. In my opinion, it's not worth it unless you've got an engine putting out more than about 250kw.
