Are you sure it was smoke? Given that it was cold it could have just been condensation from the exhaust, mine spews steam like you wouldn't believe on cold mornings. If it was really pissing out then, and I hate to say this, could have done a head gasket.
As for the not starting, what happens when you turn the key? Does the engine turn over at all or will it turn over but not fire? Check the ecu for error codes (there's a how-to in the members section) and post up any codes that come out.
And one last question, auto or manual? |
