i have recently gotten my hands on 2 10 inch alpine subs, rated at 300 watts true each, cannot find any info on them anywhere so was wanderin if there is a standard capacity that i can use to make my own box?
Also has anyone had any luck makin a box that fits on the ledge bit ikn the back of the boot to make more use of the boot space?

Nope, there's no such thing as a 'standard' sub box size. To get the best sound out of the subs you'll need to find out the model number and use a program like WinISD (free sub box designer) or Bass Box Pro (not-free sub box designer). Failing that you might be able to get away with using an off-the-shelf sub box, but it wouldn't sound as good as it should.
As for fitting the box over the diff-hump, yeah it's possible, and it's what I intend on doing with mine when the time comes. Play around with WinISD or BBP and see what volume you need and go from there. |

I have the specs for the 254E sub but not the 254D. Sorry...That said, they might be near enough to give you a bit of a rough idea. Sadly though they (254E) are best suited to a ported box, and to make the most of a ported box you need to get the size just right.
It might be worth popping into a dedicated car-audio shop (NOT somewhere like JB hi-fi) and asking them if they know anything about it. Emailing alpine and asking for the specs might also work.
