had trouble with temp gage going up and down all the time changed thermo and temp sender unit,earth out gage it seemed fine,computer said code 12 so its in the auto elecs to get fixed when i fined out what it was ill put it up for every one to see hope it help some one with the same problem

Have read that the voltage regulator for the instruments develops dry solder joints, which play havoc with the temp sensor and also may cause the tacho to be very unresponsive. Apparently, resoldering the connections to the voltage regulator, and spraying a small amount of silicon spray into the internals of the instruments (NOT on the instrument face) solves the problem. But I haven't had the time to do this yet. I think it was on a justcommodore forum. I can't vouch for whether this works, only that that's what I've read and it seems to make sense...
