Hi, in new to this site and I hope I can find the info I'm after for my VN. She's a auto and when I place her into Drive, she get's stuck in 1st gear. I haven't driven her very far or much since that happened. She did it one before years ago, then slid into the gear she was ment to (I can't remember if I slammed my foot down or not). I've been told to pull on the kickdown cable to fix her, but I have no idea where it is located. Can anyone help, or any advice on what else it may be would be greatly appreciated

On the throttle body, there are two cables. One has a "lobe" that hooks onto the throttle, the other is hooked in as a kind of counter-cable. The throttle body is a metal arrangement at the end of the large rubber tube connected to the air filter. Gently tug on the one that isn't the throttle cable, and you will feel a click. If it keeps doing this, ask an auto trans. place to fit an anti-stick spring |

Ok thanx for that. Have checked it, a lil click, so I hope that was it. I looked at the hook and it's partly broken off. Could that have some impact? |

Yes, because it might mean that the cable has more play than it should |
