hi can anyone tell me if i can get a eco into a vn by using my vn engine loom? someone told me to put one in and use the engine harness from my s1 motor an put it onto a ecotec.

can this be done without doing the whole body harness etc

Fairly sure the Ecotecs have a version of the VR/VS body computer, which is linked through the ECU. Not sure specifically what wiring is needed, but the people to ask would be Gardner Engineering. They make conversion kits to fit among others, Ecotecs to early model Holdens

The sequential injection is controlled via the ECM. The harness between the buick and the ecotec is different also i believe.
Not sure that it is an easy swap.

What's the difference between understeer and oversteer?
Understeer is when the driver is scared.
Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.

wat if the comp gives me code 25 Manifold Air Temperature Sensor. MAT has breached 'acceptable' limits. Check electrical connection, and replace the MAT sensor if required.

(see picture from Code 23)could there be a good place to stick it to a ecotec manifold to ensure it works well

ok i decided to go with putting the mat sensor behind the top half of the manifold almost beside the brake booster line very unsre it will get the correct temps however it will be better than nothing jus need to tape up the rest of the loom that i had to change the direction of then setup power steer line in the vn bolt the box to the motor an hopefully drop it in the next few days i think its been a slow process however i been doing it in the open an stuff all time

The power increase from Buick to Ecotec is as follows. These figures are all based on stock versions:
Series 1 VN-120kW
Series 2/VP-125kW
VR- largely unchanged
Ecotec base-154kW
Supercharged Ecotec-167kW

ok i got it all done and running now it has given me the light tonight but have not checked it how ever in park i get good use of accelorator and even get a pop wen i back off but it seems wen im in gear an go past 1/4 throttle it pings someone told me too lean or to advanced but being run by comp and dfi how could i change it. im assuming it could be mat sensor getting the wrong temp but also wen i changed ignition barrel i also twisted the collumn trying to get it off could this have anything to do with it as the selector now seems to be in wrong possition slightly
