Hey all. Haven't been on the site for a couple of months, due to selling my old VN for a VR. However i've just bought a 5L VN Calais. Car is excellent apart from paint. It is Panorama Silver in colour, with the silver bottom. I got the following with the car (all Debeer's):
4L Thinners 2L Clear Coat 1L Hardener 2L Panorama Silver
I believe this is all that is needed to repaint the top half of the car, as that is all the previous owner was going to paint (the silver bottom is OK). I want to paint the silver bottom half aswell, as it isn't perfect enough for me. All i want to know is the exact colour (code?) of the silver, along with what extra hardener, clear etc is going to be needed... Many thanks everyone.

Are you sure it needs a respray? Post pics of the damage and if I'm not sure I'll ask some detailers and see what they think.
You'd be surprised what the right products can achieve... and provided it isn't scratched or faded right through you should be able to fix any oxidisation. |

| yeah light scratches and moderate fading can be easily fixed its just when the paint is extremely faded you run into trouble, it will look good for a week then go back to the way it was...... |

Car DEFINATELY needs a full respray. Here's a couple of pics:

The sad thing is the paint is much worse than it appears in the photos. The roof needs to basically go back to bare metal. Doesn't really concern me though, as new paint will top it off, considering its about to be a turbo 5 spd 304 I just need the code for the silver bottom, it isn't on the plate in the engine bay. |

Agreed ;)
Be very careful matching the lower colour- I think only three greys were used and there are slight variations. |
