Hey guys,
I replaced the radiator in my Series 1 Vn today, and for some reason it is only taking about 5l of water. I done the whole run it till its warmed up with the resovior cap off and its not sucking the coolant in. I suspect I might have put my new thermostat in upside down....
Any ideas?

If you think you've got the thermostat in upside down I'd be checking that in any case.
I'm pretty sure that it will take 10litres but I'm not sure off the top of my head. |

hay dude... i have also just changed my radiator bout 3 weeks ago...
it took 10L after a day of drivn so ye..definatly takes 10L of coolent..
though with mine, my thermostate is stuck open so that could be the reason it took it all in...
how much a thermostate cost ya? $10? |

| $20 from my local repco. Ill pull the cover and flip it and see what happens, just seems a little odd that even if it is the wrong way its not popping open :/ I don't have any coolant in there yet just water, wanted to make sure it was all in properly and functioning in the manner to which it was designed before I put coolant in. |

| well ive never tried it but i dont think its pssible to install the thermostat upside down as it wont sit flush. and if its a series 1 you need the cap on the overflow for the system to build up pressure, then it will suck the water through, stupid design! |
Cheers, Nodg. |
