Guys, I am having issues with my Climate control of my VN Calais. Basically I switch it on, and on Auto, or when Manually requested I cannot get air to come out of my Face vents, all of the air comes out at my feet no matter what is showing on the display. I can get some air to the screen in Demist mode but still get lots going to my feet too! I believe there is some sort of Pneumatic solenoid pack or similar that drives this???? But cannot find it, I have taken the Climate control module out (from next to stereo) and still cant see it. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated....these warm Melbourne days are killing me without my climate!!! cheers Rich

| Generally the switch stops workin. Mine has, i was quoted 90 bucks to get it fixed. I thought my air con had stopped full stop so i had vt air con installed and it turned out that the switch that controlled where the air comes out was faulty. If you look behind the panel near the foot rest on drivers side u will see a white switch conrolled by a long metal rod, this is the switch for hot/cold. Not positive but vents are controlled by a switch up a left or completly electronically. Take it to an auto elec mate be heaps easier if u can afford to loose ur car for a day. If not take out the dash and follow the wires. |
Boost me, and double clutch me so i can get my. Loss of Traction! |

Well, I checked this out a little more too and there IS a Vacuum block located under the car stereo roughly behind the trinket tray when surround is removed (hope that makes sense), I can hear the vacuum changing as I select the different venty positions on the climate controller, however the face vent still does not work. There is a vacuum controlled (motor???) in the centre of the HVAC sort of above the stereo that makes a funny noise as I select the face vent position, so I am assuming that this may be the issue, as the feet and Windscreen demist vents all operate fine. Can anyone else back this up as I dont wanna go buying heaps of bits if its not the case. I am sure this is a pneumatic problem from what I have investigated and isnt likely to be electrical at all!! Any helpers?? Cheers Richard
