Depends on how much boot space you want to have left. Do you want the amps on show or do you want them just hidden behind everything?
For three subs (I was thinking about it but can only afford 2 at the moment), I was going to have a false floor with the amps mounted flush with the top of that so I can still use the floor of the boot. And have one sub mounted (in a box of course) behind the back seat (cone facing the back of the car) and on either side of that, mounted at somewhere between 30 and 45 degrees compared to the middle one I'd have the other two subs (in their boxes). Kinda hard to explain. Only problem is the amount of boot space you loose doing it that way. Good thing is that if you wanted to the amps can be mounted behind the MDF so they are out of sight.
Another way to do it would be to have the subs mounted in the false floor firing straight up in the air. Won't sound quite as good, but you've got three of them so that should make up for it. Are you planing on putting the subs in ported or sealed boxes? |

Been thinking about it more, here's another for you (since you don't care about the space):
Put in a flat false floor, so that it's flat from the very back of the car to the back seat. Build the boxes into the false floor, so that the subs are mounted at 45-60 degrees from the floor. Firing towards the back of the car. And have the amps mounted on similar stands behind them all. If you feel like getting really creative, some small (5mm diameter 6" long) neon tubes mounted under each amp, might add a nice effect. Depends on how much you're going to show it off.
With mine, I'm using the Fusion Encounter subs/amps so I'll be putting a green neon under each amp. Combine that with jet black marine grade carpet over the entire thing, should look fairly fancy.
Just another thought. |
