According to the letter of the law you are not allowed to remove any metal from the parcel tray of any car, otherwise you are deemed to be removing material which is vital to the structural integrity of the car...In short. You chop the parcel shelf and it's unroadworthy.
Just as a bit of a stab in the dark, I'd think that the reason you popped the welds in the boot of the VH was not the pressure levels, but the vibration of the panels between where the spot welds were. If you're going to drop a sub that powerful into the boot of a car you should also drop a lot of sound deadening foam in there too. It'll still sound just as good inside the car, but it won't shake crap out of the panels quite as much. |
