i have a VN V6 3.6 Executive, with the pressurized cooling system

anyways, ill get straight to the point. i just flushed the cooling system, replaced the radiator, filled it up with coolant, and all was good(this would of been a few weeks ago, and its been sitting in the drive way), until yestrday i started up the car, and alot of white smoke was coming out, and im like its probably just condensation so i revd up the car for a while to warm it up and the smoke went away, however the cap on the pressure tank started to leak a little, and at first i ignored it but i noticed the level of the water rose from half way to the top of the tank where it was bursting out, and it strtd to lose alot of coolant, it seemd as though there was a pressure problem

any suggestions to as why it is doing that?
a mate told me it could be a faulty pressure cap on the tank
