hey guys juz needed help changing the diff oil on a 89 series 1 vn..... i jacked the car up n undid the bottom bolt on the diff but nothin came out.... but thers a rubber plug on the right side in the centre.... how do i change the oil? iv got all the equipment juz wanna noe how i change it.... do i gotta take the whole backin plate n den fill it up from the hole? cheers

theres a metal plate as you can see, held on by around 10 small bolts, its best to remove this cover completely and to clean the sludge out, then refill the diff. Be sure to seal/tighten it properly as you dont want an empty diff housing on the freeway.....

as nodg said the cover has to come off ...i was under the impression that the diffs from vn-vs didnt have a drain plug (normal diffs) as when i changed me oil in my vn it never had one but now i have a vs and when i was under the car i saw a drain plug so it must be on later modles.
