hey everyone.
Since getting my p's a month ago i have put all my energy into getting my 89 Vn registered. This was all ok but now as i drive it round there are a few issues. The gearbox is my main concern....when in the blue D, and under acceleration is chuggs and splutter. what the? This also happens in the normal D when taking off under heavy acceleration.
What The?

Hi and Welcome ! Im not 100% sure ? it could be an out of adjustment kick down cable ?

mine a had the similar problem. there is a reset button and with a twist of the throttle cable.

it will reset , please look at this first , in any vn service manual this procedure will be explained

im sure other members can help you if this has not fixed the problem as its only a first step.

hope this helps , cheers.

chugs & splutters? could be many things but i would imagine it would have something to do with either a lack of fuel or spark and not the transmission. Give us some more info, is there smoke piring out the tailpipe? is it hard to start, etc?

Cheers,
Nodg.

I would possibly start with the fuel filter. You may have got a bad batch of fuel to.

What's the difference between understeer and oversteer?
Understeer is when the driver is scared.
Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.
