well i have been thinking and i know that VN brakes are ****...espesially on me mums VN compared to my VS brakes.

i know allot of people are doing the VT brake upgrade on the VN but is it possible to put vr/vs brake booster, master cylinder and front calipers onto a vn? without too much mucking around. Although it may not improve allot its just that the brakes on my VS is 100 000time better then the vn. and i could probly get them cheap.

cheers

i know exactly what u mean my brother has a vs commodore and his brakes are at least 20,00000000times better then my VN at i looked at the differences and u will notice they used the same diameter discs as the vn the rear is exactly the same.

the front calipers have slightly bigger pistons and have fins across them to cool them.

I'm not sure if upgrading the brake booster will do the trick i think u best go the the wreckers and pull of a vs front calipers. you may end up with the same braking power as the VS just without the ABS.

however I'm not to sure of this so anyone is welcome to correct me.

upgrading to VT SS brakes can be pretty pricey $1500 brand new.

have u tried a very soft compound brake pads?

cheers

yeh tried a fair few pads other a few years and they all seem the same. Plus i think the master cylinder and booster has seen better days which would be contributing to the "**** braking" ill go and price some vs brakes from wreckers as i think one would give them cheap, i mean the vt upgrade would be ideal but as its me mums car she doesnt really have that sort of cash to spend on a car that's probably worth 2500-3000 if that (still in good nick).

on another not vn brakes+****....vs+ much mcuch better......ve well im guessing even better lol

I believe that the vr/vs have the same calipers as the vn/vp v8's and some "s" packs. Also they have a slightly bigger disc and also a 1 inch master cylinder. If you can track down a wrecked vn v8 it will have all you need for the conversion. It will improve things quite a bit.

What's the difference between understeer and oversteer?
Understeer is when the driver is scared.
Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.

it will be much easier to put on VN V8 brakes like VNSVLE said than to go mucking around with others sorts of brakes.

I would be very surprised if u can find a VT at the wrecking to get the brakes off. if so your local wrecker is pretty good.

I'm having trouble with my brakes they are so dangerous i use all it's power to pull up from the speed limit.

I'm gona put new pads into mine (soft One's)see how it goes until i save up the money to get the newest possible brakes to fit mine.

Just remember with all these brake upgrades without the ABS once the wheels has looked up you are traveling no slower.

if you read a topic a posted a month ago or so you will probably see some answers u want on the subject.

yeah i suppose anything u do to your brakes is better then originals cos they are so bad.

maybe be4 u go and buy new brakes or second hand ask someone who knows for sure they will fit straight on cos u don't wana be mucking around with it to much .

for example buying them and then reslising u need this and that to go with them etc. do a bit of homework first
