Well after all the deliberation and research, I have payed a deposit for a cam upgrade to be done to my car. The performance workshop took my deposit yesterday, and they will be ordering the new aftermarket computer and custom grind cam tomorrow morning. So the ball is rolling, and i am excited!

Hi guys! The car is now booked to go into the workshop this Tuesday coming. It is a Camtech custom grind cam that is going into the car. I have given the specs of my cam to my mechanic, who has a better grasp of the numbers than i do, and he says it is in the spec range of a stage 3 that will make a difference to the mid and top end response. Happy days!

The cam work has been completed. The tune is pretty good. Very happy. I never had a problem with the car overheating during normal driving duties, but prior to this work, if i opened the throttle the temp gauge would rise by about a bar. Ever since the tune, the car will maintain its temperature, even under repeated shots at the throttle. The car isnt leaning out under hard throttle with the new tune. HAPPY DAYS! Sounds good too! |

| The new tune seems to manage fuel better with slightly better fuel economy than before. This was my first tank of fuel since the cam work. Very happy that i went ahead with the cam work. Car goes well and sounds fat! |

| Thanks Leebo! She goes back on the dyno in two weeks to "iron" out the tune "bugs". Must say that i am very happy with the tune. At the moment she makes 120kw at the rear wheels. |

| Thats 120kw at the wheels, which in an auto makes it around 170-180kw at the motor. The car has been tuned already with the new cam in it, but it has to go back in 2 weeks to finalise the tune, and iron out any running problems. No running problems to report. Goes hard! Need to get a tacho now, so that i know where i am within the new rev limit of 6500rpm. |

Don't always run it to 6500 though.
When you get the tune done, look at your dyno graph.
Where the dyno graph decides to drop off all of a sudden, use THAT as a shift point during your races |

| Thanks for the heads up crazybiker! I just got myself a nice tacho for that purpose. Its a 3 and 3/4 inch tacho, so it isnt stupidly big, and its not that small that you can't read it. |

| Bought and installed! Tacho sits out of sight of the windscreen. It sits below the left side instrument cluster. Now i can manually shift and get a better idea of whats going on lol. Damn she goes well! |

| Sorry guys but i have to say this, DAMN I LOVE THIS CAR! The cam work has made a big difference. When i manually shift and get the revs going, she GOES! Lol. The drive function shifts too low in the revs which doesn't make use of the larger cam lift, but the guy that tuned the car said that when you shift it manually it is a completly different car. He was bloody right! The wait for this work was very hard to cope with especially while it was in the shop for 10 days, but in hindsight, IT WAS WORTH THE PAIN. |

| 10 days was harsh enough trizo. I can't imagine a month. When i look back, i am impressed with the professionalism that i was presented with. I booked the car in and payed the deposit, a week later the custom cam and the ecu had arrived at the shop. I dropped the car in to them on the Monday morning, and had the car back the following Tuesday afternoon. She goes back in two weeks to iron out any of the concerns i have about the tune. The tacho that i had put in today has helped me realise how much of a difference the cam has made. Now i can shift it manually, and know where i am in the rev range. I won't drive it manually all the time, just when i want to pull some extra revs out of the motor. |
