Hi all, another problem, my VP is making a whining noise and has a high pitched whistle coming from the motor. Just had the powersteer pump replaced again and intake manifold gasket replaced. Any ideas of where it could be coming from and how I can stop it.
Thanks all

Turn the a/c off and see if it is still there. If it is this eliminates air con.
Remove your serpentine/"fan" belt (making sure that you draw the path of the belt before you remove it) and spin the water pump and also grab the shaft and give it a wriggle making sure that there isn't excess movement. Usually though the water pump will leak out the tell tale hole in the bottom of the pump if it is on it's way out.
Give these a go and let us know how you go!!

What's the difference between understeer and oversteer?
Understeer is when the driver is scared.
Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.

there is no excess movement in the waterpump, noise gets louder with aircon turned on and theres no water leakin out anywhere. when i rev it a little both noises com from either the water pump or the harmonic balancer.

So the noise is still there when the a/c is off??
It may very well be your harmonic balancer. What does the rubber look like?? Take a picture and post if you can. Also if you take the belt off give the harmonic balancer a good wriggle and try turning it both clockwise and counter clockwise by hand.
What is the car running like??

which rubber bit do you mean and what do you want me to take the photo of?
It runs pretty good, just it idles a bit rough, runs good enough to snap seat rails. Lol. Been through 3 drivers seats already only had the car since mid last year.
