The job of the catalytic converter is to convert harmful pollutants into less harmful emissions before they ever leave the car's exhaust system. A catalytic converter consist of a ceramic structure coated with a metal catalyst, usually platinum, rhodium and/or palladium which create a chemical reaction that reduces emissions. The contents of the cat are carcinogenic i believe and for some reason you get hauled over the pits so to speak the emission level will exceed the levels aloud for this vehicle which will result in most probably a fine and a defect notice.
I all honesty you would be better off getting a high flow cat.

What's the difference between understeer and oversteer?
Understeer is when the driver is scared.
Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.

My brother bashed out the loose metal from his CAT and if you stand behind it, you can feel faint. You would be E.P.A'd for it and defected too like VNSVLE said i would just get a new one.

If you sit in traffic you will get brain damage from carbon monoxide poisoning.

The catalyst helps to convert carbon monoxide into carbon dioxide(not all though). It converts the hydrocarbons into carbon dioxide and water. It also converts the nitrogen oxides back into nitrogen and oxygen.
Through these processes reduce emissions.

the inside of the cat is made of a material called platinum and is quite expensive , it is also highly toxic if you breath it in, basically these things are put on cars for a reason. Still cant work out y people insist on breaking these things!

If you are going to do things to your car, do it properly, and so what if it cost money to do it properly. We should all be encouraging the safety of each other so that the roads are alot more friendly and safe, and not littered with un-roadworthy death traps. Just trying to watch out for everyone on here, and the families that share the roads with all of us. Safe driving to all and safe mods guys

go a high flow metal cat.
best there is!
its like a 10 thousand dollar fine if you get emission tested and they find ur cat has been hollowed.
i drove for like a week with a hollow cat and sounded terrible, just spend the bux
