Hey guys.
just thought i'd let ya's know, i found some super heavy duty springs for towing and chopped 3 coils until i have enough money to buy ulta lows and i love it.
I had progressive lows in it before and i actually handles ALOT better with the chopped springs. i cut 3 coils out and it still sits just on legal height with a full car.
they are cable tied in and havnt had any problems with them falling out of the cups.
i have shortened sensa-tracs and it feels like as it is lower the shocks are in there range to work properly now.
Love it

Yeah, and power to the poor INNOCENT soul who ends up with your front guard where their head used to be! You forgot to mention irresponsible trizo. I wonder if you would object to getting on a plane , claiming your wing seat, looking out the window to see that the turbines were held to the wing by cable ties!

Trizo mate thats fair enough.
But VN91SX no need for that at all. Like seriously.
The way the springs that i aqquired was built is exactly the same rate as ultra lows just at a standard height. SO what is the difference in having Ultra lows that are bought and having these chopped springs that are the same spring rate and stiffness as the ultra lows. They actually arent as low as the Ultra lows.
They were cut with a Hacksaw to stop metal deformation due to heat. This is usually the main factor that ruins the springs when they are cut.
SO actually havin my springs zip tied in aswell as shortened shocks is SAFER (NOT SAYING LEGAL!) then all these guys riding with super or ultra lows with standard shocks.
IM NOT SAYING GO OUT AND CHOP UR SPRINGS AT ALL! im just saying i have done it so explaining myself.
I KNOW IT IS ILLEGAL JEEZ!!
It is also illegal to role with 17's. It is also illegal to remove the rear resinator when puttin an aftermarket exhaust on the car.
Just thought i would explain myself before everyone has a dig
Thanks

nah is all good m8 I only put the disclaimer up just so every one (including the police) that read these forums can see that we/I dont condone these sort of mods.... in saying that Im not going to judge you or your car but meerly say that it is unsafe to have or cut the springs in your car! I ca see your only voicing your opinion and thats a good thing... lets leave it there . We will keep this nice or it will be locked (at this time I c no reason to)... Enjoy

That's the problem with common sense these day's, it ain't so common. A driving licence isn't a right either. Who is to say that i am not a Police Officer anyway lol. I have said it before, go ahead and have a car accident that kills someone, which will lead to the car being pulled apart. Oh but i have insurance. No you don't buddy, your insurance is null and void. Now face the judge in open court. You will be lucky to leave the court room without going to prison, and on top of this your wages will be garneshed by the tax department for the rest of your life to compensate the family of the peron killed.
Thats not being nasty guys, thats just being real. This does happen, and i am just trying to get this point across. We have a forum here that has a chance to make our roads safer.

hahaha lol this topic makes me laugh! HOT38R, mate im not having a dig either cos i once used to have cut springs, with cable ties the whole lot like you. now the key word here is 'USED'. what alot of people dont no mate is that cut springs dont react to sudden and hard bumps very well, one of my springs actually fell out as a result of this and popped my tire causing me to loose control of my car at nearly 100kph. NOT COOL! just be real carefull because if these were really as safe as everyone thinks they are then they would be legal now wouldnt they

I'd gladly push my holden than drive a bloody ford!
