I would say get some quotes, but there's a panelbeater in Carlisle called Stuttgart Autos. They normally paint Mercs for a living, but as Mercedes Benz owners tend to be fussy bastards, I would use them as an approximate estimate for a quality job. Having the "three pointed star" above the door means they have to charge for overheads, but that will give you an idea of "how much is the limit?" |

Expensive and not an easy job to do properly as the door jams, engine bay etc will need to be painted as well...You could do it the dodgy way but will never look the same. For a basic job i would quote 3 thousand dollars but expect that price to go up if the shop you go to is 'high class' in which they will not do a bodge job as they have to give you a long warranty. |
Cheers, Nodg. |

Some panelbeaters may reduce the quote if you've done much of the surface prep for them i.e. sanded back the car. Although most panelbeaters would ask for it to be back to bare metal for a real quality job. Dunno the panelbeater you want to use, but no harm in asking them |
