| Do away with them and put door pods on 6" speakers alot better. |

I just drilled new holes for the 4-screw 4" speakers.
As for the door-pod option, it depends on how the rest of your system is setup. Going down the 6" path isn't the best option for everyone. It certainly won't be for me when I've got it all finished.
Plus, you can get a reasonable set of 4" speakers that slot straight in (with the extra holes of course) cheaper than a set of 6" |

| i recently got a pair of 4" pioneer speakers and it sounds pretty good even wen i have techno up rreally loud it still doesnt fuzz out on me. the only problem is i have to put my head unit on the bass all the way down to 6- so the bass doesnt sound so awfull i got my amp to the minimum bass but dont know y wen i adjust the bass to 0 (even) it still got alot of bass in it.rear speakers r 6/9's by the way also pioneer. so wat else can i adjust with the amp so i can turn it up without it sounding crap in the rear and shaking the hell out of my boot. |

Adjusting the bass is just altering the 'gain' at certain frequencies, so that's already being done MILD50.
The problem with boot rattles is not a new one to VN owners, getting in there with sound deadening will really help. DO NOT use the expanding foam type, it tends to pop panels off cars if you're not super careful.
The major areas for rattles are:
* Number plate (a couple of bits of double sided tape behind the plate works a treat to stop this one) * Boot vents (the little things behind the spare wheel with the rubber flaps). * Rear bumper mounting brackets. * Cardboard/carpet part of the parcel shelf. * Spoiler (if fitted) * Hub Caps (if fitted) * Petrol filler flap.
Get the car in your garage, fire up the tunes and listen for which bit rattles. Go around pressing different bits and pieces, when you find a spot that stops a rattle, try to work out what's making the noise. Then work out the best way to silence it. |

The custom parcel shelf is worth it if u want your speakers to kill the poor soles sitting in the back seat! when i get round to it i'll post some pics of my car and show u how i did mi parcel shelf cause my speakers are right in the middle away from any for the speaker magnets to attach to.
i have 4" pioneers in the front of mi car and now thinking of putting in 6's cause they just arnt powerful enuf with the 6x9's! |

I actually used a $2 yoga mat cut to size behind the boot garnish (the black plastic thing between the lights) and the plate itself which killed most of the rattles. Its been like that for over two years with no detrimental effects. I did take the boot release solinoid out aswell though but that was a decision I made after weighing the pros and cons and wouldn't be for everyone.
Don't most amps have a switch between frequencies and then you can alter the gain working between a set of limitations? Mines got a switch with a few different positions controlling the frequency range and then a seperate gain knob aswell- you'd know much more than me on this though, Mouce. |

| 4 inches arent worth it, plus you have to dissasemble the air ducts on the side of your dash and can be tricky for the screws are a long way in |
