i know u can 'daisy-chain' most amps together wit RCA's 4 subs. but i'm not sure whether it'll work with a sub and speakers. the crossover settings and wot-not might not agree wit each other. 'daisy-chaining' is done by connecting RCA's to the line-out on the first amp to the line-in on the second amp. |

And also if running 2 amps u may need to upgrade ur battery !! depends on how many watts the amps are.. if u like to turn amp settings nelly rite up an have ur stereo pumpin then yeah i would suggest upgrade battery. an the "daisy-chain" with the rca's is the way to go. if the other amp hasn't got rca line out. then u would have to wire it start to finish!! |

i've got 2 amps in my car one which powers a pair of 12 inch subs and one which powers 4 speakers. i'mnot sure what model of headunit u have but with mine their is 2 sets of rca plugs coming out of the rear of the headunit. i've only got the one amp kit though and its fairly big. but it splits into two so i can power both amps. so if u feel like pulling ur headunit out u can have a look to see if u have another set of plugs for second rca. also u can but rca splitters from places like autobarn to split one lead into two. ok thats confusing me now sorry haha hope that helps a bit |

Actually, the weak spot in the electrical system that would need to be upgraded is NOT the battery but it's the alternator. A bigger battery just makes it take LONGER for the problems to appear, but they still front up. The only solution to not having enough power is to fit a bigger alternator.
That said...two 2Ch amps won't cause any power problems unless the alternator is already dead.
As for wiring from start to finish, splitters are the way to go. Just get a set of RCA splitters, you can get them from just about anywhere that sells cables, even Dick-Smith Electronics. They will be about a foot long, will have a single RCA socket at one end and TWO plugs at the other end. Plug in the RCA's from the head unit to the sockets on the leads and then plug one plug from each splitter into each amp. EASY DONE.
That said, some head units have dedicated SUB RCA outs on the rear of the deck, if they are there, they are well worth using. Also...instead of getting a bog standard 2Ch amp, if you can, get a good Monoblock, it's a single channel amp DESIGNED to run a sub or two. |

I made a mistake when planning my sound system. I was going to get a 4 channel amp for my tweeters and my 6" in the doors, and my 6" in the rear. I want to put a second MONO amp in for my sub for best quality, it draws a lot of power. The problem is, the head unit, although costly has only once RCA output. Can you use splitters when connecting a 4 channel and a mono together? I'm pretty sure you can, just want to double check before I spend my cash. |

I have used them before and they work fine. All you are doing is splitting the signal. If you get decent splitters you should not loose any sound quality. |

you just need the 4 rca lead plugs at the back of the head unit. Wont affect the battery unless you listen to your stereo with the motor off. |

Yeah, I only got 1 rca spot, therefore 2 plugs. Hence the reason for asking for the splitter. |
